I wanted to use a different style here for the ‘flashback’ so that it would have a distinctly different feel from the ‘live’ images. I don’t know if it’s as successful as I would like it to be, but I think you get the idea - the memories are dark and muddled and harsh and unpleasant to look at….

Oh god, it’s like the old Carlin bit, what if all the bumps, bruises, scrapes and scratches you’ve everhad all came back at once .
And then they all sort of healed, but were still discolored and scarred. It’s like Wolverine’s healing factor but with a lot of bad scarring. I think it probably hurts a lot too.
This is why I always thought it was a bad idea (among the many rotten ideas) for Willow to give a whole lot of girls around the world Slayer powers in season seven of BTVS. With all that strength and no Watcher training, you don’t get superheroines; you get girls who are going to hunt down everybody who ever hurt them and kill them.
Exactly so. It isn’t just about having the power, it’s what you do with it that matters….
Well, not every girl had to be a mess of resentment and abuse before the transformation… Also, i think she gave the power at a moment when almost all potential slayers were ALREADY being hunted down by monsters, so wanting or not they had already been dragged into it. So it was a matter of making ANY army, while they could, than making an army of heroines.
Truth be told, if Watcher examples beside Giles are any indicator, Slayers before Buffy were never real heroines, they were monster-killing tools…
I really lie this effect, and I love your story…
But this can’t work out well for the guys!
like, not lie….sigh
