I guess they never worked for one that had so little care about who they kill. This Vixx could bring in the USA military. But unless they have charms against her magic they will fail as well.

is he just now figuring out that they are part of the “bad” guy team? So naive and stupid?

I think it’s the difference between responsible and irresponsible evil. A responsible villain might still bomb innocents without hesitation, but only if necessary and if that was the best remaining option (not necessarily from humanitarian concerns: you don’t want to get the heroes any more annoyed than you have to). Irresponsible evil would just do it on a whim, and not worry about the consequences. Until now, it would seem that the team have managed to stay in the responsible camp, but perhaps no longer.

To the Mods: if my e-mail comes up as nonexistent, it’s because I made a typo. It should be alexjmscott [at] hotmail.co.uk . Apologies.

It’s probably not the realisation that he’s working for the bad guys, but for an irresponsible villain. A responsible villain won’t hesitate to cause death and destruction if necessary for their own ends, but will try to minimise the damage – either due to conscience or to not wanting to antagonise the heroes too much. An irresponsible villain will cause carnage for the sake of it, and not worry about the consequences, and will therefore draw down much more hero-fury. It seems as though the team has previously managed to stay on the responsible side of the line, and he’s not at all comfortable crossing it.
