I was trying to come up wth the right ‘crushing’ example, and it was harder than you would think it should be to come up with the right phrase.
“I’ll crush you like a potato chip” was a little too brittle an image. I tried “I’ll crush you like a tin can,” but I don’t think actual tin cans have been around for about twenty years now, so it made Spandex Girl sound really old.
I’m not completely happy with “soda can,” but it wasn’t too bad and I don’t want to spend too much time on this page – I’ve got to get going on the next one. I’m open to suggestions if anyone has any better ideas….
I’m hoping the transition from the smaller Spandex Girl to the larger “Roid Rage” version was clear enough. I originally drew it from a side view and sort of showed her growing into it with a progression of images – sort of like those “evolution of man” drawings. However, I ended up going with a front view so that you could see her towering over a bewildered NanoMan. I thought that was a much better picture, and I figure if you’re reading this comic, you’re probably familiar with the standard superhero metamorphosis methods anyway….
