This coming weekend (August 25-27) I’ll be at the Amazing Hawaii Comic Con at Artist’s Alley – Booth H4! If you’re in the area, come by and say Hello!

If you happen to be one of the newer Henchmen readers who may not have read through the entire archive of stories, Mighty Man is our version of the generic good-guy hero who sits at the top of superhero food chain. If you’re familiar with the Superman comics from the 60’s and 70’s, he’s inspired by the Curt Swan/Murphy Anderson version from back then.
A lot of you regular readers are already starting to pick up some of the possible threads for where we’re going with this next arc, so I shouldn’t say too much more, except to note that this is meant to be just one starting point, and it will take a few pages to come together.
I’ve been trying to create the Henchmen for Hire pages entirely digitally, using a Surface Book and Manga Studio (or whatever the most recent update has been renamed to), and while it’s been interesting, I haven’t enjoyed drawing on a screen as much as I like using the old pencil and ink. I suppose I’m an old dog having a hard time learning new tricks. I’m going to go back to the old methods and my old number two pencils for awhile and maybe when Origins gets into full swing, I’ll take another pass at drawing digitally….
The Amazing Hawaii Comic Con is coming up on August 25-27, and I’ll be at an Artist’s Alley table and participating with other members of the Hawaiian Comic Book Alliance in a cool poster promotion for the event. I’m also tentatively scheduled to speak on a panel about creating webcomics, and I’ll post more info when I get the final schedule. If you’re in the neighborhood, be sure to drop by and say “Hi!”
