I was watching an interview with John Cleese from several years ago, and the topic of nudity in film came up. The host noted that he had heard of ‘frontal’ nudity, but wondered if there was a corresponding term for a view from the back. Mr. Cleese suggested the term ‘dorsal nudity.’ I know that’s not a real phrase, but by golly, it ought to be….

I like being able to draw establishing shots like the one in the last panel in today’s comic page. They take a little more time to do, but I think it adds a lot of atmosphere to the story. I had wanted to draw a more detailed interior image for Blackwater Prison on one of the previous pages, but I wasn’t able to fit it in due to time constraints, and it wasn’t essential to the tale. This image for Tek Support’s secret lab is more relevant to give the reader some ideas about Tek Support himself, and there’s even a glimpse of something that becomes more important in the upcoming pages.
Since I was so happy with the establishing shot, I shared an early peek at the panel – without any word balloons – with my Patreon followers. If you’re interested in supporting Henchmen for Hire, you can click the Patreon button on the right side of the page and check it out. The comic will always be free, but if you’d like to help defray the cost of web hosting and potentially one day help me make the website ad-free, you can become a supporter. Thanks!
We’ll probably be jumping back to check on the Henchmen (remember them?) in the next page after this one. It’s always a challenge to keep a balance while following parallel storylines, and we still have to find out what’s happening with Tek Support and his son as well.
In all honesty, I occasionally get sidetracked when I’m drawing a big battle scene, and they probably run on for a page or two more than they ought to, but that’s what happens when you’re the writer, artist AND editor. The artist probably gets a little out of control on occasion….
