I’m old enough to remember when the original Terminator movies, with a very young Arnold Schwarznegger first arrived in the movie theaters. One of the many scenes that stuck in my head from those films was when the terminator arrives from the future in a bubble of energy. The bubble cut a circle into the ground and cut away anything else that intersected with its energy.  I wanted the last panel to have that same look, but I hadn’t quite figured out how to make it work. I may come back and revise this page if I decide to gather Origins into a graphic novel….

There’s a color version of this page coming, but I didn’t want to delay posting any later, so here’s the black and white to tide you over until I can get all the color dropped in. I actually kind of like the black and white look, although I enjoy coloring too much to drop that part of the process entirely.
I love time travel stories, but I’m finding that it’s pretty challenging to write one and keep all the time lines straight. When I was laying out this tale, I used several large sheets of paper with a lot of lines drawn between events happening in past and present. Then I took a step back and decided that I needed to keep things clear and simple for the purpose of good storytelling.
I’m hoping I’m striking the right balance, and it’s a good sign that you clever readers are picking up the threads.
