The big island of Hawaii on the Hilo side took on quite a bit of flood damage, but for the most part we were pretty lucky and we avoided what could have been a much larger disaster.\u00c2\u00a0 At one point Lane was a category 5 hurricane with 150+ MPH winds, and would have done serious damage if it had reached the islands with that intensity, but we were fortunate and Lane shrank down and swerved away before making landfall.<\/p>\n<p>However, Amazing Aloha Comic Con was cancelled because Lane was approaching the islands, and so was re-scheduled to early 2019 instead. \u00c2\u00a0 There were a lot of disappointed folks when the cancellation was announced, but now we have February 22-24, 2019 to look forward to!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; Amazing Aloha Comic Con &#8211; Cancelled and Re-Scheduled to February 22-24, 2019 at the Hawaii Convention Center In case you missed the news, the Hawaiian islands had a close encounter with hurricane Lane during this past week.
